Dear Guest, Federal taxes are done; I’m still crunching on
the This month, in addition to completing some long overdue maintenance and gardening, we hosted two special events. First the maintenance report. You’ve probably noticed the new signage and a garden extending across the entire front of the building, as well as a newly-sided front porch and spruced-up metal roofs. We made a dent in interior items too. Our thanks to Dennis’ brother Bruce, sister Joan (forced sibling labor billed as a “reunion”), as well as Kim and John Owens of In Full Bloom, for making it happen in such a short time. I hope you like what you see. The Bull & Oyster Roast on the 18th featured oyster fritters, chorizo-crusted oyster salad, lemony oysters in stew, and oyster bread pudding with prime rib; it went very well. Following that, the Country Italian Small Plates Cuisine event on the 25th was also sold out. Highlights, surprisingly, included Grilled Octopus Salad and Orecchietti with Spiced Garbanzo Bean Sauce (enhanced by a lot of Sweet Vermouth). I’m sure we’ll repeat these concepts next year. In May we are hosting two wedding rehearsals and a retirement dinner; they occur on Friday the 9th, 23rd, and 30th respectively. As such, our planned Simply Southern and Small Plates Cuisine events will be delayed until June. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11th from
