Dear Guest,

Seems more like winter than fall…what’s with the snow? And just how many shopping days are left?

Thanksgiving’s past. Paul and I got a chance to relax here in Onancock; Dennis drove to Georgia to be with his sister’s family – that involves crab cakes and bone-in prime rib cooked by you know who. He’s supposed to be coming back tonight – we are open this weekend.

Our November Small Plates Cuisine event had an Oxford University Dinner theme – complete with English Onion Soup, Prime Rib & Yorkshire pudding, and Spiced Cranberry – Pear Tart. Paul served a flight of 5 different champagnes, each paired with a course, and a good time was had by all. In fact, we celebrated a guest’s 90th birthday the next night and the whole party requested the small plates menu!

December is a short month. We’re closed December 6th and 7th – Dennis is going to the Army – Navy game in Philadelphia. We’ll open the 13th and 14th, and then host our last event of the year, a Holiday Small Plates Cuisine on Friday, December 19th, with some of our favorites from 2008:

Smoked Salmon Terrine
Bleu Cheese Waldorf Salad
Antipasto Pasta

Chicken Confit with Apricot Chutney
Asian Braised Baby Back Ribs
Feta Cheesecake

The price is $25 per person (plus tax and gratuity); reservations only. Paul will have his special Holiday Punch (he’ll top last year’s Mother’s Ruin) as well as seasonal drinks.

Closed for the holidays, we will be open in January for groups and special events.

I look forward to seeing you soon! Have a joyful (and safe) holiday season.

With warmest regards,

Sandra Fox
General Manager
